That is a HUGE get for Clarkson. At this time Neutralzone.net considers her the #1 player in the 2019 class.

According to this article http://www.journalexpress.ca/sports/...veillette.html, CCT does have a future star in Veillette. Contrary to posts on USCHO, it doesn't appear that there was interest from western diploma mills (and RPI knew there sadly was no chance).

Edit: Interestingly she is only tied for 6th on SC's scoring list http://www.stansteadcollege.com/athl...y-girls/stats/ but she missed several games. Although she is young, there are quite a few younger players on the roster http://www.stansteadcollege.com/athl...-girls/roster/.

Lastly, SC played in the JWHL tourney last month in Arlington, VA, which I wanted to go to because 3 RPI recruits were playing but the weather was too nice and I went bike riding instead. . I probably would have watched her since SC played CYA U19 twice where 2 of the RPI recruits play. However I probably wouldn't have paid any attention to her unless she stood out to the degree that Annie Pankowski (then NAHA, now UW) did three years ago.

Matt Staudacher was selected by the Minnesota Magicians in the 3rd round 56th overall in the NAHL draft today, he was recently at the Muskegon (USHL) camp but with being selected so high in the NAHL draft that makes me think he will go there for this season and then join up with Muskegon the year after.

We have a recruit according to twitter:
5th round selection this year in OHL draft by Sudbury 87 overall.
                    Kosta Manikis
                    Center 6.00*158lbs
2001 DOB don't know if he is 2019 or 2020

Here is Sudbury's thoughts on him "Kosta is a strong centre that models a two way game with good sense, producing when the game is on the line."

                    Additional Scouting report:

Kosta Manikis, C, Vaughan Kings (GTHL)
Easily the most underrated player in the draft, Kosta Manikis has been a player that’s needed little convincing on this season. An average skater with an unique stride, Manikis often gets knocked for his ‘look’ yet he shows us consistently that he’s a brilliant two-way player. The Kings’ pivot is one of the best faceoff players in the draft and blends his smart instincts to leave his impact in all three zones. He’s deceptively good as a possession player, finding creative targets with his vision and executes with precision using easy-to-receive deliveries. Manikis is a tough player to describe in words and it never does his game justice. With that said, his combination of skill, smarts, competitiveness and elements of grittiness creates an extremely valuable player.

                    WELCOME KOSTA !

Really big get, won't be shocked to hear his name selected in a few years if he stays on this trajectory.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OIgMJpWRJfI - ISO footage of Manikis in a game not too long ago, still very young but you can see the potential.

Chris Heisenberg also has Manikis listed as going to Aurora in the OJHL joining recent commit Anthony Romano. Hopfully Aurora influences them to not pull a Liam Ham.

Looks like Manikis will be playing for Stouffville this year in the OJHL as he played in a preseason game the other night with them, Romano will still be with Aurora of the OJHL, if they have successful years at this young of an age then it won't be a shock to see either of them sign with a OHL club so the staff will still have to recruit these guys honestly. Manikis scares me the most in that regard as he's a pretty high pick for Sudbury and just turned 16 on 8/15, will be interesting to follow his production playing in a league where he will be one of the youngest players and playing kids that have 4 years on him, he's a potential true freshman candidate IMO.

Staudacher makes the Muskegon 30 man, he will have to impress to stick around, Muskegon is a younger team that doesn't have a lot of expectations so they'll want to see a lot of different players to help them judge for next years team.
