"Clarkson assistant Josh Hauge, the former head coach of the NAHLís Fairbanks Ice Dogs, was contacted but did not apply or further pursue the position."

That's good news to start the 18-19 front if Hauge is staying, he's going to have future offers so hopefully while we still have him we can build off of this years success and potentially make a tournament run in the upcoming years, you never know if Brosseau, Egle, Kielly, Sturm make it to their senior season but it seems we have a nice window these next two years with a group that will be experienced because of how they played crucial roles as young players.

Per Twitter, Josh Dickinson signed an entry level contract with Colorado Avalanche.

Ouch, I thought he'd be a candidate to leave early next off-season but obviously the Avs thought he was ready to be a pro hockey player, I wish him the best of luck. Tough blow for Clarkson though, I feel Rempal was more expected and a backup plan was in place, now it seems we will at least need another forward or two. Dalpe, Dickinson, Gareau, Gervais, Pierog, Rempal is a pretty tough haul to lose, losing a lot of leadership and now we are losing a lot of skill with the two early departures.

On top of the talent loss...a lot of it right up the middle too. Dickinson, Pierog, Gervais..

Yes, Campoli, Dunne, Tisdale can all play down the middle but Dickinson was proven, another summer in the weight room and he could've had a huge sophomore year. It's interesting too, while Brosseau and Rempal had great chemistry there wasn't a lot of puck movement on that line, Dickinson and Jacome truly fed off of one another and used each other to become good consistent college players. Another weird dynamic in all of this is that we have a tiny senior class for this upcoming year so we only had to fill the spots of Jokiharju, Quince, Thow, so our only other forward recruit that's actually college ready that isn't already coming in the fall is 1998 birth year Jordan Robert, he's been hurt a lot of the year and quite honestly hasn't progressed as one would hope.

So either the staff bumps Robert up to this years class or we go and get someone that hopefully can make somewhat of an impact because bringing someone in early like Anthony Romano is most likely impossible unless he's got all of his credits in order, he won't be 18 until October so that's quite a reach, especially someone who has been hurt a lot of the year. Best case is we found someone similar to Haralds Egle who we got extremely late in the process but is rare to hit a home run with a recruit like that so I wouldn't put all my eggs in that basket. With significant playing time opening up the staff could offer a younger kid to potentially come in as a true freshman, that is basically what Campoli was going to be doing last year when the plan was to bring him in, I don't know if there's a high end guy like that available this go round.

Let's hope Hauge and Roy can pull a rabbit from the hat.

Tough loss with Dickinson. Hopefully Jacome doesn't follow. In other news, lots of Tech fans here in St. Paul.

I would think that at his size he would have the sense to stay in college.

I didn't realize he had a connection to the tragedy. This must be horrible for him to come to terms with.

With the departures of Rempal and Dickinson, do we think any of our 19 recruits might be pushed up? Also, does anyone think Casey and Co. are out there looking at other schools' 19 recruits that they might be able to get with a promise to bring them in in 18?
