I'm trying to understand what Madstop posted earlier in the other thread, why would there be different rules for the men and the women? Sauve is listed as a redshirt-Junior on the Ohio State roster, that makes me believe she's definitely earned enough credits to graduate as she probably took classes during that redshirt year and that she's set up to transfer with one year of eligibility, maybe I'm missing something?

In Women's Hockey you can transfer out of your conference without having to sit out a year (in conference you have to sit a year) so graduated or not she is good to play next year for CU if all goes as rumored.

Is Clarkson going to Belfast for just one game?

Two according to the press release, both against Northeastern. Clarkson might be home team for both games since the Huskies owe the Golden Knights a trip (wonder if Belfast wanted the pep band back).

            Thanks. That makes sense.

I hope that the RPI women make that trip too in the near future.. I know that the RPI AD last season discussed it with the people running the event.

BTW, it's nice to see a grad transfer apparently going to an ECAC school as opposed to away, even if it is Clarkson.

Latest info on Kassidy Sauve from the USCHO fan forum from osualum86

I really wanted to stay away for a while, but yes, Kassidy Sauve is leaving. She has reached out to other schools and some have reached back. It is not a done deal regarding where she will be going next season. It could be here in the US, or it could be in Canada.

Well, that means Clarkson is almost certainly one of the teams she is in contact with. If she wants to max out her national title chances and not be too far from home, Clarkson is certainly a good choice. Clarkson has carried four goaltenders before (in 2013–14 when they won their first title and then again in 2014–15, although Horn spent that entire 2013–14 season out with an injury redshirt)t. Sauve would almost certainly be the starter if she did come, but I am not sure how that would effect Clarkson's goalie situation going forward. Brenneman is the only goalie on the roster with any playing time and she has only 120 minutes on her career, so I figured next year was anyone's game to be starter (and I half expected the incoming freshman to win the job and start another four-year starting stint in net for Clarkson). If Brenneman thought next year would be her year, she'll be disappointed, and it would leave her with only one possible year to start and I don't know if she's a good enough goaltender to start only as a senior when there are younger goaltenders Clarkson could be developing.

Brenneman could be the starter for at least 3 or 4 ECAC teams. Regardless of whether we get Suave or the freshman recruit is tabbed as the next 4 year starter, that means Brenneman could get at least 6 or 8 games. I'm sure she knew this was a possibility when she came to Clarkson but she chose the school or program to be her best option.

Clarkson announced its captains for the 2018-19 campaign. Forward Cassidy Vinkle (Belleville, ONT) will serve as captain in her senior campaign after acting as an assistant captain this past season. Defensemen, Josiane Pozzebon (Bourget, ONT) and Ella Shelton (Ingersoll, ONT) will lead as assistant captains in their senior and junior campaigns, respectively.

More post season awards for Tiley and Giguere.

A co-worker was up at campus last weekend and spoke to someone "in the know" about next season. She reported that two hockey players are transferring in with one being the goalie from Ohio State. The other, whose name she couldn't remember, is a very talented player from our Connecticut rival Quinnipiac. These additions should once again make us the team to catch.

Although as an RPI alum, I am far from being a Clarkson fan, it is nice to see that a D-III school can be the recipient of such transfers instead of the source.

You left out 2 with Northeastern in Belfast.

Also, no guarantee on the Vermont series since last year was a home-and-home. Minnesota–Duluth coming to Clarkson is big though, as they and Clarkson are the only pair of NCAA champions that have yet to meet.
