  • I'd say Gabel probably established herself as the clear front runner for the Patty Kaz this weekend. Fillier from Princeton was one of the people right with her, but Gabel clearly had the better game in yesterday. If this team three-peats, it will be owing to Gabel and Sauvé carrying them through.

    • Looks like Michaela Boyle is transferring to Robert Morris.

In a previous post I had listed her as being injured and out for the year but then I checked the team page and she was no longer listed so I knew something was up and revamped my initial post. Best of luck to her at RM.

Maybe thru your green and gold glasses she is but not according to Nicole Haase on USCHO.

I'll take Gabel over Keller but I do not get a vote .

Somebody should let her know some of those numbers are slightly behind Erin Ambrose's 2013–14 pace (and she was not even top three). Also, the article was written before Gabel had back-to-back three point games, but Gabel is only slightly off of Watts's Pts/game mark from last year, with a higher percentage of goals. Lastly, how is it that she's "not sure we’ll be talking about the season Loren Gabel or Elizabeth Gigučre is having next year", but "you may be able to make that argument for Jesse Compher", who's currently being outpaced by both of them. Is it because she, like Kessel (who, to be fair, had a season where she tallied 101 points as Minnesota went 41–0–0), Coyne, and Watts all play in the largest media markets of women's hockey while Clarkson is located in the middle-of-nowhere? I should really send this post to her.

I thought about sending something to her about why Gabel is a better choice than Keller but then it gets into a pizzing contest that you can't win so why bother.
Could ask her since she is touting Keller for Kaz why she is not writing similar articles about the other top contenders.
I think Gable and Giguere are as good a Kaz candidate as anyone playing college hockey. Both are going to have to maintain near or above 2 points per game over the rest of the season to have any shot at the Kaz.

That is exactly why. Its a typical ECAC snub. She also noted Daryl Watts season being one they will remember for a long time. Why? She put up 82 points and her team got shut out in the first round of the NCAA tournament. Awesome... she is endorsing a player who currently sits 15th in the nation in point production, and has not done anything that Ambrose or Harmon didn't do for their teams.. that article is straight up bunk.

Im confused, as it says "she will be back behind the bench," and welcome "Coach Michaela Boyle." Is she transferring to RMU to be a student/coach or to play hockey? Am i missing something?

I think what it is saying is that she is a coach for the Boston Lady Whalers (the team she led in scoring before Clarkson) when not in college. The twitter feed is from the Boston team.

I get it now. Makes sense, thanks!

                      • Congrats to Kassidy Sauve, the ECAC Goaltender of the Week. Cornell's Kristen O'Neill had a monster 8 point (5G, 3A) weekend to beat out Loren Gabels 6 Point (5G,1A) weekend for the ECAC Player of the Week.

                        • Only thing I did not like was that Cornell played 3 games last week so O'Neill had 50% more game time than Gabel. Still a great performance by O'Neill

                          • Bit of a tonal shift out of USCHO this week. Guess Loren's performance last weekend might do that.
In the middle of a career year with 55 points in 26 games, Clarkson senior Loren Gabel is more focused on the hard work that can help the team win...

                            • This weekend will be huge. If Clarkson gets four points, I think they're the favorite to win the ECAC regular season crown, but last time out against these two they got zero. We're going to need another couple episodes of The Kassidy Sauvé Show to get what we need this weekend.

Gonna need more of the Kassidy Sauvé show and some other line(s) putting the puck in the net to help the Gabel/Giguere/Pejzlova line.
