  • You could argue this is going to be the toughest 6 game stretch of our season. Princeton is the only "easy" game but we tied there last season, lost in 17-18, 16-17, 15-16, 14-15, our last win there was 13-14. The Pairwise is so tight we are one slip up away from being on the wrong side of the bubble despite a very good 13-3-0 ECAC record, it just speaks for how weak the league is. Quinnipiac and Clarkson will flip flop with Clarkson potentially sliding even further depending on other results if the Bobcats can take two points on Friday. If that happens and assuming we beat Princeton and then we sweep our final home weekend against Dartmouth and Harvard along with a road win at Colgate (obviously Cornell would be nice but even if we lose there it's not going to effect us in the Pairwise very much at all) I don't think we will be firmly in or anything but other teams especially in Hockey East will be beating up on one another and that benefits us, I also believe that's a very realistic scenario we go 4-2 with losses at Cornell and Quinnpiac although we give Qpac fits on the road in recent years. We are a virtual lock for the first round bye so with a home 2-0 sweep we'd be in a very solid position to be an at large going up to Placid, hopefully not being in a must win position for that semifinals game but if we are it's nice to have a lot of players who have been in that position before.

    • Agreed about toughest 6 game stretch of season-was looking at Tech's and Cornell's remaining schedules and Tech definitely has a much tougher row to hoe than Cornell. It's concerning.

      • Any chance Qpak will be wearing some kind of goofy Valentine's Day hockey sweater for tomorrow night's game?

        • Wow, that Quinnipiac game was as one sided as the summary written on CollegeHockeyNews.com indicates. I've heard of the "luck of the Irish", but the "luck of the Golden Knights"...I'll take it. Nice to see the Sophs step up and Klack did play a huge game.

You can get by the offense, and work your way around the defense, but then there is Marotte & good luck. An ugly game to watch unless you need Marotte highlight footage. Onward to Prinny.

          • In fairness, we had fewer chances but the ones we had were really great. Q goalie may have only made 18 saves, but 8 of them were unbelievable and if the save on Gosselin on the backdoor isn't on Sportscenter today, there's a problem.

              • No, held out to let some nagging injuries heal is what I heard.

And the goals CCT had were a bit of puck luck. 1st goal digging at the puck in the crease required video review, 2nd goal off the skate of Quinny Dman and the game winner a floater over the shoulders of a couple of players and over the goalie and into the net. Sometimes its better to be lucky than good. The wife and I plan on being at Prinny toknight. This game has been a real disaster the last few years. Looking for a win toknight.

                  • Not sure I've ever seen Clarkson be outplayed for the majority of the game and still come out with a win. Faceoffs were horrible last night, stats say we won 21 and lost 36 but it seemed much worse than that.

                    • McCarthy can be a beast. Solid & steady in his end and always a threat on the offensive zone.

                            • Was taking with another guy and his wife during the Prinny game. They were not Clarkson alumni but were cheering for Clarkson so I was filling them in on this years team and my 47 years of following mens and womens hockey at CCT (has it really been that long) . They drove from NYC with their 2 hockey playing sons (and their sticks) to see the game. After the first period he comes to us and asks if we have a pen they can borrow. My wife gave it to him. He goes off and comes back and tells me that Rick Nash, Columbus scout was at the game scouting players (probably Marrotte and McCarthy) and he wanted to get him to autograph the boys hockey sticks (which he did).

I also watched the Quinny game and at the end of the game Pecknold giving the referees (Carusone and LeBlanc) the index finger and reading his lips bitching "ONE PENALTY, ONE PENALTY". Well at the SLU game the refereeing crew (Carusone and Dapuzzo) must have talked before the game about Pecknold wanting penalties called so they gave both teams penalties in spades (Quinny 8 and SLU 13) and the result was 5PP and one 4x4 goals out of 7 total.
