  • CLARKSON VERSUS the yale bulldogs February 16, 2008

This is information from the pre-game talk with Bob and George. George was impressed with the way Brown played last night, and he was pleased with the outcome. The Golden Knights felt pretty good about their victory.

Scott Freeman is not feeling well enough to play toknight...he will be replaced by Jon Marshall. George had a lot of praise for the play of the Golden Knights last knight. He said that Yale has gotten some good players on their team. Finally, our defensive zone needs to do a better job toknight.

BULLY THE BULLDOGS TOKNIGHT, CLARKSON GOLDEN KNIGHTS.

Steve Zalewski begins the game with a faceoff. Steve along the boards is hit from behind...no call.

David Cayer would have had an empty side of the net to shoot at, but his stick wasn't in the proper place on the ice.

Good pressure by Clarkson, but yale gets possession.

Yale just went in on a two-on-one...and did not score.

But on their next possession, the bulldogs did score. on a turnover inside the Clarkson zone.

And now, Phil Paquet is called for interference....too bad.

Under Clarkson protest because David Leggio was taken out of the play...those bulldogs just scored their second goal....two bummers.

It often seems so easy for our opponents to score, yet the Golden Knights seem to have to work so hard to get any goals.

Oh Lord no, Tim Marks is called for an interference penalty....another power play for those dogs.

Nick Dodge goes in alone on a breakaway, but he is prevented from scoring by the bulldog's goaltender. Nick took a backhanded shot.

The power play is over for the bulldogs.....let's hope this is their last power play.

              Tim Marks's shot just missed.

Next David Leggio makes two outstanding saves to keep his team still in the game.

Now Tyrell Mason took a shot.

David Cayer is roughed up by a bulldog, and Clarkson goes on the power play.

We need a goal....especially on the power play.

Phil Paquet is being held and Yale is called for that infraction.

Clarkson will have 22 seconds of a 5 on 3 advantage.

              Grant Clitsome takes a shot.

Chris D'Alvise's shot was just tipped out of Shea Guthrie's reach.

Ty Mason just missed the net on his shot.

Well, Clarkson is going on its third straight power play.

Steve shot on the short side, but he could not score.

David Leggio made a great save.

                LET'S GO TECHERS.......SCORE PLEASE.

Yale takes the puck away again during our power play....and they did the same thing again.

Clarkson could not score on three straight power play advantages.

John Marshall knocks down his man, and Jon is off to the sin bin.

About 3 minutes remain in Period 1.

Clarkson seemed to be on top of their game during the bulldog's power play, which just ended.

David Leggio was called upon to make three more consecutive saves....David has made 11 saves this period.

CLARKSON'S FIRST GOAL WAS SCORED BY MATT BECA FROM STEVE ZALEWSKI AND LAURI TUOHIMMA.

Matt's shot went off the backside of the goaltender and into the net. And you know what folks? We will take it!

End of Period 1 CLARKSON 1 the bulldogs..... 2 (I would like to call them something else, but I don't dare.)

Now, Clarkson fans, let's all cheer for Steve Zalewski to either score or get an assist toknight. Steve now has 99 points, just one point away from that prestigious 100 Point Club.

David Leggio made ten saves and the bulldog's goalie made 12 saves in Period 1.

                      Period 2 has begun.

Ty Mason is hit from behind....no call.

Adam Bellows shoot on goal...now Dan Tuttle has the puck....Grant Clitsome takes a shot on goal.

Yale penalty....contact to the head...roughing results in a Clarkson power play.

Shea Guthrie takes a shot in hopes of scoring.

Steve takes and wins the faceoff.

David Cayer takes a shot on goal but the bulldog's goalie grabs it.

Nick Dodge blasted the puck towards the net on the short save, but to no avail.

David Cayer is hit from behind by a bulldog....roughing is called.

Clarkson has a 25 second two man advantage.

                        LET'S GO TECHERS.

Steve tries to push the puck into the net, but he can't quite do that.

Yale wins the faceoff and clears the puck down the ice.

Shea Guthrie passes to Chris D'Alvise who simply cannot place the put past the bulldog's goalie....too bad guys....great Clarkson pressure though.

Brandon DeFazio is knocked off the puck, and it is passed down the ice.

The power play is over. Clarkson has had FIVE power play opportunities and scored on zero of them.

THAT WONDERFUL MATT BECA JUST SCORED HIS SECOND GOAL OF THE GAME.

SCORE IS TIED AT 2 EACH.

Tim Marks is called for roughing and goes to the sin bin.

                          LET'S THINK ABOUT A SHORT-HANDED GOAL, CLARKSON.

Yale loses the puck, but regains possession, and shoots at David Leggio.

Well, thank goodness, the bulldog's power play is over....after three shots....all misses.

                          9:22 left in Period 2.

Dan Tuttle takes the puck over the blue line; now Mike Arciero has the puck.

Brandon DeFazio takes the puck and passes it to David Cayer. The bulldogs take the puck and drive it down the ice....icing called.

Momentum belongs to the Clarkson Golden Knights, who have come back from a two-goal deficit.

                            23 ~ 17 shots on goal...Clarkson advantage.

Matt Beca attempts a hat trick.

Lauri Tuohimma is called for a penalty....the Clarkson bench is very angry.

Yale power play begins....we wish them bad luck.

Once again, Steve Zalewski wins the faceoff.

BE TOUGH, CLARKSON GOLDEN KNIGHTS....NO MORE GOALS FOR YALE.

The power play ends with no damage done....yale only had one shot on goal during the power play.

Nick Dodge attempts a wrap around. Next, Brian DeFazio and David Cayer go in one a two-on-one, but the yale player tips the puck away....how sad.

Chris D'Alvise is called for a penalty....absolutely unjustified....the Clarkson bench is incensed.
