  • CLARKSON versus yale January 16, 2009

I thought that game time was 7 PM. However, I am listening to the radio broadcast, and it is 6:55. So far, there is not a word from Bob or Gary.

Stay tuned.....hopefully, the feed will be ready for broadcast as soon as the game begins.

I've had no success with the clarkson feed either.
Right now, I'm watching the Yale feed.

With about 7 minutes left, the audio feed from Bob and Gary finally is on the radio.

I just heard that SHEA GUTHRIE SCORED CLARKSON'S FIRST GOAL WITH ASSISTS GIVEN TO MATT BECA AND SCOTT FREEMAN.

Unfortunately, the bull dogs also scored a goal.

Adam Bellows is going to the penalty box for interference, so the bull dogs are back on the power play.

Richie LaVeau is the Clarkson goalie toknight. He was very good in the first game against SLU last Saturday knight.

Bob apologized for the earlier technical difficulties with the broadcast.

Yale does not score of their power play.

I think I heard Bob say that the Yale goal scorer has scored five short-handed goals already this season....ugh.

A shot goes off Mark Borowiecki's glove and out of harm's way.

Tim Marks takes a shot as the period one ends.

              SCORE: CLARKSON....1....yale....1

Shots on goal in this first period......yale...13.....CLARKSON.....5

From the little I heard about this first period on the radio, the Golden Knights were playing quite well. Just being able to score the first goal should provide some encouragement to the team.

During Period 1, Yale went ZERO for two on the power play.

Clarkson went ONE for TWO on their power play.

Clarkson overcame a slow start in the first period.

                Period 2 is now underway.

Chris D'Alvise had a good chance, but the yale goalie stopped the puck.

Shea Guthrie passed from behind the net, Louke Oakley just missed.

Yale went across the line on a two-on-one...and that's all they did.

                  Richie LaVeau makes another save.

Darn it, Yale had a breakaway and scored....isn't that too bad? Richie made the initial save, but he backed himself into the net.

yale now has 2 goals, and CLARKSON has one.

Julien Cayer took a shot and Nick Tremblay just missed the rebound.

Oh my, something AWFUL happened, and the puck went into the Clarkson goal. Richie had no chance on the goal.

yale has now scored two goals in less than two minutes....rats.

                    yale....3......CLARKSON....1

Lauri Tuohimma and Brandon DeFazio try to score but can't.

Scott Freeman shots at goal and the puck is tipped by Brandon DeFazio, but not into the net.

Phil Paquet makes a nice pass to Chris D'Alvise.

yale just took a quick shot on Richie, who made the save.

                      8:05 remains in Period 2.

Matt Beca and Shea Guthrie pass the puck right in front of the yale goal, but they could not put the puck in the net.

Tom Pizzo is down on the ice and hurt.

                        Icing is called against Clarkson.

                        Dan Tuttle takes the faceoff.

                        Nick Tremblay steals the puck.

Evidently Tom Pizzo is okay because he is back playing.....that's good.

yale is pressing for another goal.

A handpass is called against the bull dogs. Yale has outshot Clarkson by a large margin this period.

Clarkson is ruled offside....the CU bench is not happy.

Louke Oakley nearly had the puck stolen.

Tim Marks goes into bulldog territory.

Clarkson finally clears the puck....Chris D'Alvise goes in alone and shoots the puck, but it is stopped by the yale goalie.

Matt Beca's shot is blocked at the buzzer, as Period 2 ends.

                          yale....3....CLARKSON...1

As a matter of fact, that is the exact same score of the SLU ~ Brown game....SLU leads 3 to 1.

                            Period 3 will begin soon.

Yale's record is 11 and 4 this year.

During Period 2, yale had 8 shots on goal and Clarkson had 7 shots on goal.

                              Yale is called for icing.

                              Yale won the faceoff.

Lauri Tuohimma created a turnover and Scott Freeman took a shot on goal.

Corey Tamblyn is hit from behind...no darn call.

Chris D'Alvise tried to put in the rebound from a long slapshot from Phil Paquet. but he just missed.

Richie LaVeau just made a brilliant save.

Tom Pizzo takes the puck up to the line.

Clarkson gives away the puck and then gets it back.
